Encounter the world of Counter Strike!

Counter Strike 1.6 is a tactical FPS game (oh come on, you donno what FPS means? Go Google it :P ).Counter Strike  was developed by Valve and released onto Steam for PC.
Counter-Strike divides players into teams of terrorists and counter terrorists. Equal number of players on both sides makes the game more interesting.
It has five game modes:

1) Rescue/hold hostages,

2) Bomb target/defuse bomb,

3) Escape from/guard an area,

4) Assassinate/guard a VIP.

And a more recent and popular one
5) Aim_maps, let’s call it rapid fire ;)

They're well implemented, although these ideas are not particularly original, there is an effective balance between stealth and action. Different maps necessitate different strategies and team play, sometimes particular team has an advantage sometimes not .
Games are short rounds and if you are killed, you are killed. No re-spawn. This is not unreal tournament mind it, no death matches (Although some patches allow you to play one). You will have to sit until next round commences.  And dead players can chat among themselves, but not with players who are alive. Obviously ghosts can speak among themselves but not with humans right? This feature makes the game more thrilling and it builds up tension among the spectators. More successful you and your team are more money you earn and stronger and better weapons you can choose for next round.  This leads to a huge imbalance when one team wins consistently.

Choosing a right weapon calls for involvement and knowledge about them. There are many kinds of weapons you can use some of which are common to both CT’s and T’s, and some are different. T’s unlike CT’s are usually given illegal weapons like AK-47, defender etc...
Snipers, Rifles, shot guns, machine guns, sub machine guns and pistols are the categories of arms available in this game. Not only guns, but grenades, Kevlar and shields also play a vital role in winning a round. Finally to conclude, counter strike is an exquisitely awesome game which needs enormous amount of practice and skills to master. It has influenced many fps games in past decade. Blissful firing until next time.
