Tiranga

Take a look at that flag. Designing that  sure took a lot of trouble. It had to please everyone. And by that I mean everyone. Those 3 bands are to courage and sacrifice, peace and truth, and faith and chivalry respectively. Now lets examine how these hold in the view of recent political developments(Lal Chowk flag hoisting incident).

Courage and Sacrifice: None have the courage to stand up and put an end to all this. The state government was scared of the separatists. The separatists scared of the their militant handlers. The militants really are non-state actors. We must have had the courage to vaporise them long ago.

Peace and truth: Peace in the Valley is an oft repeated statement at across all the media channels. Its akin to Stop Corruption . Both never seems to happen. Both are fodder for running  'debates' and 'discussions' at Prime time. The media has got to change its attitude. Truth is often circumvented for TRP.

Faith and Chivalry: First up is faith.None have the faith that the people of J&K are true blue Indians. J&K was, is and will continue to be an Indian state. We should not even argue about that. Chivalry has indeed become a medieval idea ... at least in India. The political parties rant about one another in a manner which is detrimental to the idea of democracy. Whatever happened to settling matters via dialogue? It isn't as if India has any dearth of external enemies. At-least our leaders must show an united front to the rest of the world.

Opportunism seems to be the theme of our political parties. Even allied parties like to go against one another to gain political ground.
Where do you see this taking us? Can we afford to be in such political turmoil ? Will we ever change?

  1. A good article on Republic day.The crux of everything u said here is that the political situation in India has gone from bad to worse. The only silver lining is that we are in a democracy. And all the so-called ills of a democracy come up only when people don't participate in the political process.Democracy works only when people act responsibly. And most of us need to be "inspired" for that. And here in comes to picture the sad situation of our national media. They bother only abt TRP's ; whether it is giving unnecessary mileage to fights between political leaders or ignoring brave officers who feared nothing while attending the call of duty. But there is still hope. Now at least we know the names of the people involved in various scams even if we are not punishing them :) .Slowly and steadily we will overcome all this. Yes we can :)

  2. By not allowing Indians to hoist National flag n India, both the state and the Central Govts. have surrendered to the Separatists.
People who tried to hoist the Tiranga were arrested and those who marched against it were sent off w/o any action against them...
In which direction is the Govt. taking this issue to ??
In the post Independence period, Dr. Shyam Prasad Mokharjee sacrificed his life for removing 2-Prime Minister system in the country.. Now after 64 years we have no right to hoist National Falg in an integral part of the nation..
Politically speaking, If INC and JKNC (both members of UPA) had allowed BJP to unfurl Tiranga, nothing would have happened and this incident would have been forgotten by the people
of India in the course of couple of Months. But the non allowing of unfurling Tiranga has not only made this a national Issue but also will tarnish the Image of UPA (INC) in those states which are like it's strongholds where-in the Legislative Elections are fast approaching. INC w/o thinking of this, blindly opposed BJP. And obviously BJP will use this as a political tool during their campaign in all these places. Now in the upcoming elections INC has everything to lose and BJP has everything to gain..
This is my fisrt and Final reply.. No further comments from my side.
